This call for projects is part of the Horizon Europe funding programme adn entitled : Smart, low-cost pervasive stationary slow-charging and bi-directional solutions synergic with the grid for EV mass deployment (2ZERO Patnership)

Objective

Improving the mass, intelligent and low-cost charging of EVs on public roads, as well as improving the overall efficiency of the grid’s power supply, including intelligent charging at home and in the office.

Priorities

Ensuring comprehensive coverage of high-efficiency, low-power, low-cost intelligent on-street charging points (taking into account network infrastructure and capacity, parking patterns, etc.).

Respond to the needs and requirements of users in the socio-cultural contexts of different communities in order to integrate habits and daily practices, with an emphasis on public charging.

Use statistical models of parking, traffic, network configuration and energy flows to forecast and support planning of energy supply on a larger scale (e.g. at least regional level), as well as methodologies and demonstrations to derive or calibrate such models on the basis of real traffic and behavioural data.

The development of applications with analysis capability and human-machine interfaces (HMI) for access and use that support interactions related to: parking location, power (and its guaranteed minimum), price.

Supporting and demonstrating intelligent, two-way operation in publicly accessible environments at night.

Development of innovative optimisation functions exploiting real-time access to battery information, such as state of health, state of charge, capacity and power set point, which should be provided, respecting GDPR regulation and data disclosure conditions.

The solutions developed should be provided under non-discriminatory conditions between users and allow choice of e-mobility service providers, to avoid consumers being tied to a single e-mobility service provider, affiliated to specific vehicle manufacturers.

Optimise the use of energy resources and infrastructure to cater not only for private mobility use, but also to integrate the use of the same infrastructure by other captive fleets of light vehicles if their needs are compatible with the low power level.

Eligibility

Each applicant must be a legal entity, in other words a natural or legal person with legal personality. It must be established on the territory of one of the EU Member States or in one of their overseas territories. Otherwise, it must be established in one of the “associated states” of the Horizon Europe programme or in a low- or middle-income state;

Each consortium must be composed of at least three independent eligible legal entities, of which at least one must be located in an EU Member State and at least two others must each be established in a different EU Member State or Associated State;

The activities should reach TRL 7/8 by the end of the project.
